Celebrating 50 Years of Women in FFA


National FFA is celebrating 50 years of women in FFA. On Thursday morning, FFA members, advisors, supports and many others came together for an interactive discussion panel talking about women’s voices in advocacy and overcoming hurdles in largely male-dominated fields of work.

Missouri Chapter Receives Premier Chapter-Building Communities Award

Georgia FFA Chapter Receives National Middle School Model of Excellence

The Commerce Middle School FFA Chapter of Georgia is the recipient of the Middle School Model of Excellence award at National FFA Convention.

This chapter is only in its second year and has claimed its first National FFA award.

Ohio Star Farmer Finalist: Little Changes Make Big Impacts

Todd PetersonTodd Peterson is among four FFA members nationwide to be recognized as an American Star Farmer finalist. Peterson started his SAE with only a 7-acre pasture. Today, he farms over 300 acres of corn, soybeans and wheat.

“I’m trying to change my world a little bit every day. Try to learn something new every day, just a little bit at a time so that eventually all those little changes, all those little bits of knowledge you have, will add up into something big.”

Peterson is from the Miami Trace FFA Chapter in Ohio.

Illinois Star Farmer Finalist: Persevering Through Record Flooding

Nick Torrance is among four in the nation to be recognized as an American Star Farmer finalist. His Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) is comprised of three parts: corn production, soybean production and beef cattle production.

Torrance says his family’s operation was impacted by record flooding this spring.

“My dad’s operation, we actually never got a tractor in the field in the month of May.”

What keeps them going, Torrance says, is faith.
