One of the most decorated athletes of all time, Tamika Catchings has left an indelible mark at every level of the game. Catchings is a 4-time Olympic gold medalist, 10-time WNBA All-Star, 5-time Defensive Player of the Year, and a WNBA Champion.
Her advice to FFA members was to be bold, and to believe in themselves. She says students from all backgrounds may have experienced a time or two someone saying no, or they can’t, but it’s the reaction that counts of how to get back up and lead. As the FFA mission states, “FFA provides the next generation of leaders who will change the world,” there are many ways to lead and she’s done just that. Since retirement, she’s dedicate time and service to the Catch the Stars Foundation that provides programming to fitness, literacy and youth empowerment.
