Karstyn Cantrell, a native of Collinsville, Oklahoma, will complete her year of service as the 2022-2023 National FFA South Central Region Vice President at the end of the week. She’s encountered everything from canoeing trips during rainstorms to unique FFA members in over 100,000 miles of travel during the past year.
Cantrell reflects on her experience serving nearly 950,000 FFA members this year with Broadcast Desk Intern, Lydia Johnson.

Virginia native Andrew Seibel was able to stay in the moment with FFA members on the road for 300 days visiting 35 states. He recalls stories from Alaska to Florida and other highlights from his year of service. “This jacket can take you wherever you want it to, and this experience and organization can be whatever you make of it.”

75 years of FFA members singing in the National FFA Chorus is filled with history from yearly song choices to friendships made from across the nation. The choir performs annually at the National FFA Convention & Expo where they recognized specially at this year’s event.

Year after year, Indiana Corn Marketing Council and Indiana Soybean Alliance continue to donate to the National FFA Convention and Expo. Courtney Kingery serves as the Chief Executive Officer for both organizations.
While Kingery herself was not an FFA member, she values the organization and its value for young people. “I’m passionate about making agriculture the home for the best and brightest,” she said. “The skills that students in FFA gain will carry them throughout their life.”

Mike Koehne, chairman of the Indiana Soybean Alliance, is no stranger to the blue jacket. A first-generation corn and soybean farmer from Greensburg, Indiana, the FFA alumni credits his experiences in the blue corduroy to much of his personal and farming success.
