American Star in Agricultural Placement – Jessica Woodworth

Star_AgPlacement_WoodworthJessicaAs a fifth generation farmer, Jessica helps her family produce swine and cattle as well as fresh produce at their farms, Flying W and MJW.

Woodworth said she has learned how to successfully run a business and communicate with customers. As an animal sciences and industry student at Kansas State University, Woodworth plans to obtain a degree in veterinarian medicine and focus her practice on large animals.

American Star Farmer Finalist – Tommy Allen

Star_Farmer_AllenThomasThomas Michael Allen claims his love for agriculture and the dairy industry came from his grandfather. After receiving funds to purchase a dairy cow from his grandfather, Allen started his own business.

The Wisconsin FFA member raises registered Jersey dairy cattle with 25 cows, 22 heifers and 15 bulls. He also purchased, raised and sold more than 20 market lambs. Allen markets dairy cattle genetics across the globe. Listen as the Wisconsin native shares his SAE experiences.
