Lincoln Electric Showcases Innovation, Safety
Attendees at the 96th National FFA Convention and Expo have the opportunity to experience an array of hands-on activities, including the Cooper Cobot collaborative robotic welder. Rachel Blakenship from Lincoln Electric discusses the safety components of the machine, its application in education and industry, as well as the recruitment opportunities for welding and trade careers.

Student-Led Committee Looks at Expanding Opportunities for FFA Members
One of six committees of delegates from across the nation looked at the needs of students within FFA and made suggestions to improve the membership experience for all.
The committee, led by Delaware native Noah Dixon, looked at ways the organization can be inclusive for FFA members from across the nation, even for middle school students. The committee recommendations will be voted on by the 475 delegates before being sent to the National FFA Board of Directors.

FFA Member Turned Olympian, U.S. Army Sergeant
Phillip Jungman’s career started in the U.S. Army during college at Texas A&M University. After being selected as an alternate for skeet shooting in the 2016 Olympic Games, he joined the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit where he currently serves as a Staff Sergeant. Jungman then competed in the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games, placing 15th overall in Men’s Skeet Shooting.
He credits the development of core skills in FFA as a catapult to his personal, career and Olympic success.

Committee’s Task Reassess Nominating Committee
While the end goal was to bring together solutions for a student-led committee, a Kentucky native and chair Jackson Baird learned more from others perspectives throughout the many discussions.
Baird served as chair of the Committee on Nominating Committee Evaluation where he led a group of delegates through evaluating the selection and role of committee members in the National Officer selection process. The committee recommendations will be voted on by the 475 delegates before being sent to the National FFA Board of Directors.
He shares what the committees conclusions were and what he learned from the process with Broadcast Desk Intern Michelle Stangler.
