Colton Barnes of the South O’Brien FFA Chapter in Iowa is heir to a rodeo legend: the Barnes PRCA Rodeo, started by his grandfather. With the organization, he works in breeding and manages 300 bucking and 50 saddle horses. He also manages 150 bucking bulls and 38 cows. Barnes remarks that he doesn’t work for the rodeo because he has to but because “I love…the way of life.” He is supported by his parents and John and Cindy and his FFA advisor Eric Kumm. This award is sponsored by Cabela’s and Yamaha Motor Corporation USA.
