Illinois Star Farmer Finalist: Persevering Through Record Flooding

Nick Torrance is among four in the nation to be recognized as an American Star Farmer finalist. His Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) is comprised of three parts: corn production, soybean production and beef cattle production.

Torrance says his family’s operation was impacted by record flooding this spring.

“My dad’s operation, we actually never got a tractor in the field in the month of May.”

What keeps them going, Torrance says, is faith.

Torrance is from the Macomb FFA Chapter in Illinois. Listen to his story with Alex Voichoskie.
