Jonathan Timm of the Cisne FFA Chapter in Luka, Ill., comes from a cattle-producing family so he had to prove to his parents that he was up for the task of switching lanes into swine production. When he was in the seventh grade, he purchased his first two show pigs, a purebred Hampshire gilt and barrow. He now sells show pigs to local 4-H members and also markets feeder pigs and fat hogs for butcher meat. Timm wants to become a teacher of middle school science while also continuing to produce and market quality beef and swine. He is supported by his FFA advisor, Jennifer Timm. This award is sponsored by Zoetis.
