Annie Hall is the agriculture teacher at Valley High School in Pine Grove, West Virginia, a small school that serves a rural community. More than 50 percent of the students in her school are enrolled in agricultural education.
At Valley High school, students can choose to take yearlong or semester-long agriculture courses. Those who complete the proper sequence of required and elective agricultural education classes in the program earn an agribusiness completer certification endorsed by the West Virginia Department of Agriculture.
Annie wants students to understand the importance of being able to apply what they learn to real-life situations. Her philosophy is that students receive the full benefit of the program when they take ownership. She works to help her students develop their passion in life and find a place for agriculture within that passion.
Congratulations to Annie Hall, the NAAE Region VI Outstanding Agriculture Teacher, and congratulations again to all of this year’s NAAE Outstanding Agriculture Teachers.
