National Diversified Livestock Proficiency Winner – Reighly Blakely

Reighly Lou Blakley of the Oologah FFA Chapter in Oklahoma produces and sells top quality livestock on her family’s sixth-generation farm.  Her beef cattle operation produces show calves and seed stock, as well as packaged meat for the local farmers market.  While urban sprawl stunted her ability to lease additional land, it also presented the opportunity to market livestock as retail meat products.  In 2009 Blakley purchased 100 laying hens so that she could add another product line at the farmers market.  She also raises swine and sheep to show and then use in her meat market. Blakley is supported by parents Lyle and Rae Blakley and FFA advisors Josh Blair and Clay Drake. This award is sponsored by Tractor Supply Company and Wahl Clipper Corporation.
