Before enrolling in agricultural education courses, Delaney Rose Ahrens of the Brooksville Senior FFA Chapter in Florida had little interest in math and science courses. When she started doing research to satisfy her class requirements, she became hooked on the scientific process. Part of her research included testing types of reusable bags for bacteria growth due to improper use. Ahrens is supported by her parents Brooke and Frederick, who is also her FFA advisor. This award is sponsored by the National FFA Foundation, Inc.
