Kurt Parsons wins Diversified Crop Production

Kurt Parsons of the Porterville FFA Chapter in California dived into the agriculture industry by washing tractor windows when the farmers were taking their lunch breaks.  Today he works on a farm that harvests nearly 15,000 acres of field crops each year.  He has tried to learn as much about the farming operations as possible.  In addition to the expected tractor driving, operating harvesters, planting and hay work, he has focused his efforts on marketing, customer acquisition and equipment design and fabrication.  Parsons is supported by his parents John and Cecilia and his FFA advisors Isaac Robles, Gabriel Ponce and Todd Coons. This award is sponsored by Crop Production Services and National Crop Insurance Services.
